Bhuvaneswar is capital of Orissa, the Indian state. It has a history of 3000 years. There are many temples, which span the spectrum of Indian architecture. Bhubaneswar is often referred to as a Temple City of India and together with Puri and Konark it forms the Swarna Tribhuja (“Golden
Triangle”); one of eastern India’s most visited destinations. Bhuvaneswar once it was the headquarters of Kalinga Kingdom. The present modern city of Bhuvaneswar was designed by the world renowned German architect Otto Königsberger. It is also a modern commercial centre.
There are more than 500 temples which includes Lingaraj Temple, Mukteswar Temple, Bindu Sagar, Shatrughaneswar Temple, Vaital Temple, Parashurameswar Temple and Raj Rani Temple etc.
There is a well maintained Regional Planet Resouse Centre (RPRC), the longest rose garden in. Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves, Orissa Modern Art Gallery, Tribal Museum and Pathani Samanta Planetarium. Kalinga, the famous place of War after which Great Emperor Ashoka renounced violence is a short distance away from Bhubaneswar.
